About Me

At my core, I am a creative. Whether it's games, videos, code, or music, I'm at my best when I'm creating something.

You may know me from my video about game art, or my viral GIF (see below).

What I do

As of writing, I'm a 3rd year undergraduate student at Georgia Tech, studying computer science with concentrations in systems/architecture and theory.

I've been creating games since I was about 7 years old, starting with Khan Academy's computer science program. If you're interested in my game development journey, I've made a series of YouTube videos about how I got here.

I didn't seriously start programming outside of game development until high school, where I learned Java and Python. I have always been fascinated with compilers, and, ever since learning to program, I have made a number of prototypes for lexers, parsers, interpreters, and compilers. You can find those on my GitHub page.

I started making YouTube videos in 2020, documenting the process of developing my first commercial game, Wing It. (That link leads to a free web version. The game was eventually delisted from the Google Play store.) I've been making videos on and off since then.

I learned to make music in a program called OrgMaker, which was developed alongside one of my favorite games, Cave Story. From there, I eventually learned OpenMPT, which I've been using for my games, as well as for my original albums.

What I like

I'm not sure I could choose a "favorite" game, but Cave Story probably speaks to me the most. I also love Mother 3, although I'm embarrassed to say I haven't finished it. The game I admire most is Super Smash Bros. Ultimate - having produced several games, Masahiro Sakurai is an absolutely superhuman producer.

Musically, my favorite artists are the same ones that have influenced me the most. The first music I appreciated beyond video game soundtracks was classic chiptune and tracker music from the '90s and beyond, artists like Purple Motion and Fearofdark. From there, I got into '70s prog rock and jazz fusion. Check out my personal Spotify playlist.
